Seqrite, an enterprise solutions arm of cybersecurity firm Quick Heal Technologies Ltd, has come up with two cloud-based mobility solutions – MobiSmart and mSuite -- targeted at enterprises with BYOD (bring your own device) policy.

With mobile devices such as smartphones becoming a part of the BYOD practice within the enterprise ecosystem, Quick Heal technology chief Sanjay Katkar believes challenges will arise such as those related to multiple-device management and security.

The risks, according to Katkar, arise from mobile users not installing adequate security on their devices or operating jailbroken or rooted devices, leaving enterprises extremely vulnerable to security risks.

Further, the tech chief said that, MobiSmart, which is a centrally managed and secure mobile workspace, provides separation of corporate and personal data to manage enterprise applications and data on mobile devices.

MobiSmart integrates with Enterprise Product Information Management (PIM) policy and prohibits business users from copying/pasting, screen-capturing, or syncing secure files and information within the workspace, which employs 256-bit encryption, he said.

According to the company, MobiSmart also enforces strict single/multi-factor authentication to access enterprise data while providing a compelling work environment to BYOD end-users, with all the access and features they need to be productive.

The other solution, mSuite, is a mobility management suite that can manage devices and applications. Enterprises can manage the usage of connected mobile devices by defining device policies and restrictions, Katkar explained.

"mSuite’s virtual fencing feature allows organisations to define digital boundaries and apply policies and restrictions on devices by creating Wi-Fi, geo-location, and time fences," Katkar said.

Additionally, Seqrite's solutions enable information technology teams to remotely schedule a security scan on enrolled devices to identify risks and infections.

In September last year, Katkar while speaking to TechCircle had said that Quick Heal would focus on consolidating its enterprise solutions under Seqrite and offer better products based on artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud to add large enterprise customers.

The company's Seqrite bouquet of products also includes endpoint security and encryption, unified threat management and mobile device management.
