Aeris, which offers Internet of things-based services, on Tuesday said that it has partnered with Santa Clara-based supply chain and enterprise asset visibility firm Roambee Corporation to offer IoT-based shipments and asset monitoring services.

While Roambee provides condition monitoring and visibility services for in-transit goods and in-field assets, Aeris offers end-to-end IoT-based machine-to-machine (M2M) solutions via its mobility (AMP) and connectivity platforms (ACP).

As part of the arrangement, Roambee will use ACP to manage its global data connectivity and to run its shipping, inventory, pallet, asset and fleet monitoring services.

This helps Roambee advance its service delivery while improving supply chain predictability and throughput for enterprises, the companies said in a statement.

“By utilising Aeris Connectivity Platform’s data management and location capabilities, Roambee better manages our own quality of global service for enterprises at scale. This is an integral part of Roambee’s portfolio of end-to-end, real-time visibility and monitoring solutions," Vidya Subramanian, vice president of products, Roambee, said.

Aeris also said that ACP drives value by providing a smarter cold chain as it can provide real-time monitoring with live data and situational alerts along with actionable insights for future business improvements.
