Ola’s long-serving exec and interim COO quits company
Ola old-timer and interim chief operations officer (COO) Pallav Singh has quit the company after serving almost seven years, The Economic Times said, citing unidentified people.
The development comes eight months after senior vice-president Singh had taken over as COO following the departure of Vishal Kaul, who quit after serving the company for nearly one-and-a-half years.
E-mail queries to Ola did not get a response till the time of publishing this report.
An engineer from IIT Bombay, Singh joined Ola as its general manager in 2012 and rose to become vice-president of operations in 2014 and senior vice-president in 2015, according to his LinkedIn account.
Ola has witnessed a string of high-level exits in recent times. In November last year, online media publication ET Prime had reported that Ola chief people officer Susheel Balakrishnan had quit after serving for a period of six months.
In September last year, Saikiran Krishnamurthy, senior vice-president of growth, and Joy Bandekar, corporate president of new initiatives, left the firm.
Other senior executives who quit the company in recent times include Shalabh Seth, chief executive of the cab leasing arm Ola Fleet Technologies; Rajiv Bansal, chief financial officer; Raghuvesh Sarup, marketing chief; and Deep Singh, senior director of operations.
