SSCBS Innovation & Incubation Foundation (SIIF) has topped up its seed investment in Perspectico Learning Pvt. Ltd, a startup which offers online career preparation courses for students.

The value of the deal was not disclosed.

SIIF had first invested in the Delhi-based startup last November.

SIIF is an incubation centre formed under the incubation policy of the Delhi government. Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (SSCBS) is one of six institutions from Delhi selected to develop an incubation centre with the aim of backing entrepreneurs.

Perspectico said in a statement that the fresh capital will primarily be used to expand its operations to three metros — Kolkata, Mumbai and Bangalore — and a few more Tier 1 & 2 cities.

Perspectico was founded by Nikhil Chainani in September last year. Chainani worked with investment banking firm Nomura Holdings before launching his startup.

The company helps students prepare for job interviews by providing placement preparation and career growth-focussed training. It works with university and college placement cells, coaching institutions, placement agencies and companies. 

Perspectico invites industry experts from companies such as Nomura, HSBC, Kotak, GenNext Ventures, Deloitte, Xander Private Equity and Unitus Capital to conduct both offline and online training sessions for students.

The startup also creates short career-related podcasts to train students about the interview processes at various companies.

Perspectico’s primary source of revenue is its proprietary online career preparation modules. It claims to have grown 125% monthly over the past four months.

Perspectico currently covers a number of disciplines such as finance, consulting, marketing and sales, and entrepreneurship. The company said it plans to expand the team and bring in more industry experts and content professionals It will also add 10 more careers to the platform including architecture and law.

A number of startups in the broader ed-tech space have raised funding recently.

Earlier this month, online tutoring startup Vedantu Innovations Pvt. Ltd raised $11 million (around Rs 78 crore at current exchange rates) in a Series B funding round led by impact investment firm Omidyar Network.

GuruQ, a community for online tutors, secured Rs 2.5 crore in a pre-Series A funding round from a clutch of high net-worth individuals (HNIs) last month.

In September, Jaipur-based experiential learning startup SRJNA raised an undisclosed amount from impact investor Gray Matters Capital’s edLABS initiative, angel network Keiretsu Forum and SucSEED Venture Partners.
