Homegrown IT major Wipro has said that it is partnering with US-based cybersecurity firm Check Point to offer cloud security services called CloudGuard IaaS.

IaaS refers to infrastructure as a service, a form of cloud computing that provides virtualised computing resources over the internet.

“By incorporating Check Point’s cloud security solutions into our IaaS offerings, Wipro customers will now benefit from advanced fifth-generation threat prevention for virtualised cloud deployments and enterprise edge applications,” said Sheetal Mehta, senior vice president and global head of cybersecurity and risk service at Wipro.

According to Check Point, the partnership with Wipro will further accelerate demand for its CloudGuard comprehensive suite of cloud security products, which are focussed on advanced threat prevention and safeguarding enterprise cloud applications, infrastructure, and data.

“We look forward to working with the hundreds of certified Check Point engineers and cloud experts at Wipro to bring these benefits to our mutual customers and keep them one step ahead of the modern threat landscape,” said Itai Greenberg, vice-president of product management at Check Point.

CloudGuard currently protects more than 2,000 enterprise cloud environments, Check Point said. It added that Wipro will help customers maximise their investment in the cloud infrastructure.

Some of the key features of CloudGuard include automated and dynamic policy, rapid deployment and consolidated logs and reporting.

Greenberg explained that using automated and dynamic policy, the cloud service can absorb and leverage contextual information about the infrastructure to automatically adjust security policies to any changes in the cloud environment.

He added that centralised management allows the service to enforce a consistent security policy for all corporate assets across both the public cloud and on-premise infrastructures — all from a single console and the service itself can be deployed quickly with options of both pay-as-you-go and bring-your-own-license pricing models.
