Times Internet Ltd, the digital business arm of media conglomerate Times Group, said on Thursday it has appointed Nidhi Agarwal as its head of corporate initiatives and planning.

Agarwal is the co-founder of Kaaryah.com, an online women’s fashion brand that shut in December last year.

Times Internet also announced the appointment of Dipti Tandon as the business head for live video gameshow platform BaaziNow.

Tandon, an alumna of Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad, has been with The Times Group since 2005. She was also the co-founder of online matrimony firm JeevanSathi.com.

Gautam Sinha, the CEO of Times Internet said, “Dipti (Tandon) has been leading the BaaziNow initiative right from the time of its conceptualisation. She has been the driving force in making BrainBaazi and BingoBaazi the most popular and technologically advanced live video gameshow platforms in India.”

Tandon was the product head at online real estate platform MagicBricks.

On Agarwal, Sinha said she brings “a sharp strategic mind and a keen entrepreneurial spirit” and that “she will be a tremendous asset for all our businesses in identifying new avenues of growth and creating innovative technology-enabled solutions”.

In December last year, VCCircle had reported that Kaaryah, co-founded by Agarwal, shut down because of lack of funds. 

Kaaryah Lifestyle Solutions Pvt. Ltd, which operated the online fashion site, reported net sales of Rs 1.7 crore and losses of Rs 4 crore for the financial year 2015-16, showed data with VCCEdge, the research platform of News Corp VCCircle.

In December 2015, Kaaryah had raised an undisclosed amount in pre-Series A funding from former Infosys director TV Mohandas Pai and Saha Fund.
In June 2015, it had secured an undisclosed amount of funding from Ratan Tata.

Agarwal had established Kaaryah in early 2014. Prior to launching the venture, she was director of strategy at American multinational firm Honeywell International India Pvt Ltd.
