IndiaMART names Amarinder Singh Dhaliwal as chief product officer

IndiaMART InterMESH Ltd, which runs an online B2B platform for small and medium businesses connecting global buyers with suppliers under the brand IndiaMART, has appointed Amarinder Singh Dhaliwal as chief product officer.

In his new role, Dhaliwal will help strengthen IndiaMART's user experience, create a consumer centric brand and lead product innovation, it said in a statement.

"Technology and internet are re-defining the B2B space. The B2B sector is moving at a fast pace and it comes with immense opportunities to innovate and grow. As internet becomes pervasive, the firm is well positioned to leverage its understanding of SME needs as for a lot of SMEs, the first brush with Internet has been through IndiaMART," said Dhaliwal.

Dhaliwal is an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad and IIT Delhi and comes to IndiaMART with more than 20 years of experience.

Previously, he was chief operating officer at Micromax YU where he launched YU brand.

Besides, Dhaliwal was earlier founder and CEO of private label e-tailer DoneByNone.com. He has also worked with companies such as Times Internet, World Wide Media, Powergen PLC and SBI Capital.

IndiaMART recently raised an undisclosed amount in Series C funding led by Amadeus Capital.
