Saw a pretty dress on Pinterest or Instagram but have no idea where to get it? In that case, visual search startups can come to your rescue.

Visual search is the next big thing in the fashion e-commerce space with more and more e-tailers introducing visual or image search on their platform.

For example, Flipkart is using a visual search feature from Singapore-based startup Visenze for its fashion category. Similarly, Snapdeal's visual search tool, FindMyStyle.in, makes product discovery easier for shoppers.

Craftsvilla, Voonik, Yepme and Kaaryah have also integrated image search capabilities on their platforms, thanks to a startup called Mad Street Den. And Aditya Birla Group's e-tail venture Abof, Biba and Globus are using visual search feature from Streamoid.

There are multiple startups both in India and globally trying to crack visual search, helping companies enable their users to discover products online, based on photos of objects in the real world. Several Indian startups such as Wazzat Labs, iLenze and Snapshopr, among others, have also received investors' attention, proving the potential this space holds.
