Telecom firms should not see us as enemy, says Nanu CEO Martin Nygate
There's no doubting that telecom operators see over-the-top apps such as WhatsApp and Skype as their enemies. Telecom companies object to the Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services these apps provide for free saying its hurts their business.
Now, a Singapore-based VoIP app startup Nanu is offering free calls to mobile and landlines. But the catch is that it is paying the telecom companies for every call made through their platforms.
In an interaction, Nanu CEO Martin Nygate talks about how he is addressing the regulatory concerns around VoIP services in India and how telecom companies are reacting to its service.
