Activities curator FindURClass gets funding from VentureNursery, angel investors

findurclassFindURClass Services Pvt Ltd, an extracurricular activity and hobby class curation startup, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from a set of investors, including members of startup accelerator VentureNursery.

Amit Patni, co-founder and chairman of Nirvana Venture Advisors Pvt Ltd, Anirudh Damani, managing partner at Artha Venture Partners and Samir Shah, managing principal at Hong Kong listed Sattva Investment Advisors were among the angel investors who participated in the round.

The startup had raised Rs 1.5 crore from VentureNursery in November 2014. FindURClass was a graduate of VentureNursery's fifth acceleration programme.

The Mumbai-based startup recently expanded its operations to Pune and Bangalore. The new capital will be used to scale up and expand to other tier 1 cities.

It has over 20,000 hobby classes listed on its platform, in around 100 categories including art and craft, sports and adventure, singing, music, photography, etc. The startup also works with schools to strengthen their after-school extracurricular activity programmes, and also launched its 'UR Family Activity Pass', which allows families to engage in activities together.

FindURClass was founded by Rina Nathani and Aakash Jethwani in March 2015. Nathani, who is also the CEO of the startup, was earlier a director at consulting firm KPMG. Jethwani, co-founder and tech lead, has wide experience in semantic search and website analytics.

In the same space, Gurgaon-based startup Mycity4kids, a parenting blog and kids events discovery site, this year raised $3 million (around Rs 20 crore) in Series A funding from SIDBI Venture Capital Ltd and existing investor YourNest Angel Fund.
