Vserv hires ex- Google exec Ramachandran as sales head
Mumbai-based Vserv, which runs a data platform for mobile marketing, has appointed former Google India executive Nadeesh Ramachandran as vice president of sales.
In a media statement, the company said that Ramachandran would be responsible for driving Vserv's sales efforts across India and Southeast Asia.
"His experience at Google is invaluable and would prove to be a great advantage to Vserv as we look to further scale up our business in India and Southeast Asia," Dippak Khurana, founder and CEO of Vserv, said.
Ramachandran was heading the retail, QSR and real estate verticals for Google India, before joining Vserv.
Founded in January 2010 by Khurana and Ashay Padwal, Vserv ties together data from offline/online marketers, telecom operators and mobile app developers besides third-party sources. The platform then creates personas and triggers real-time intent signals for end-user discovery and monetisation.
It mines data for about 500 clients across sectors such as consumer goods, e-commerce, retail, telecom, banking & financial services, mobile entertainment and gaming. The company, which aims to cross $100 million in revenue by 2015-end, has over 200 employees
In March, Vserv had raised $15 million (Rs 91 crore) from hedge fund Maverick Capital Ventures and existing investor IDG Ventures. Prior to that, it secured $3 million from IDG Ventures and Epiphany Ventures.
