Digital payments firm TranServ strengthens top deck
It has brought in former OnMobile global digital marketing head Asutosh Upadhyay as chief product and marketing officer. TranServ has also named Kaushik Mitra and Amit Kumar Gupta as SVP - product and SVP and head - engineering, respectively.
"We are looking to add fresher perspectives to our long-term vision and distill their experience across business verticals and industries to develop an exceptional product," said Anish Williams, co-founder & CEO, TranServ, in a statement.
Mitra was part of the product divisions of FirstCry.com, an e-commerce platform focused on baby products. He has also served at the products division of Shine.com, an online job referral service.
Gupta has earlier worked with Sapient, MakeMyTrip.com, Infosys, Bank of America and CA Technologies.
Founded in 2011 by Williams, along with Sandeep Ghule, Aditya Gupta and Amar Habibullah, TranServ provides online payment solutions to both consumers and businesses. Its products include prepaid card, mobile card, remittance card and gift card. For businesses, it offers a host of customised solutions like employee cards, sales channel incentive cards and customer engagement card-based solutions. TranServ's payment solutions are offered under the brand Shmart!Pay.
TranServ will soon launch a social multipurpose wallet that will have features including send/request money and gifts with added features such as split bill, group payments, social gifting, recharges and other utility payment facilities, the company stated.
In July 2014, TranServ raised an undisclosed amount in Series B funding led by PE fund Faering Capital's India Evolving Fund, with participation from existing investor Nirvana Venture Advisors.
