Music-focused budget smartphones Lava IRIS X1 Beats and XOLO Q600 Club launched in India for Rs 6,552 & Rs 6,499 respectively

Lava has added yet another member to its 'IRIS' family of smartphones. Called IRIS X1 Beats, the device sports a 5 inch display and runs on the Android operating system. The smartphone is basically a variant of the IRIS X1, and its highlight is the K-Class Amplifier that is combined with stereo speakers for an enhanced audio experience. The device is available for purchase for Rs 6,552 in the country.

In addition, Lava's sub-brand XOLO has also further expanded its range of smartphones in the country with the launch a budget device. Christened Q600 Club, the smartphone comes with special Box Speakers (with DTS Support) which the company claims deliver a powerful sound experience- hence the name 'Club'. This one is available for Rs 6,499 in the country.

This one sports a 5 inch FWVGA touchscreen display (854×480 pixel resolution) and runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and has 1GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 8GB (5.9GB storage available to the user), which can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.

Lava IRIS X1 Beats has a 5MP auto focus rear camera with LED Flash that can record full HD videos (1080p) at 30 fps, and a front facing VGA camera for video calling. Additional features of the camera include panorama and High Dynamic Range (HDR), etc. On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, and 3G, as well as a microUSB port and a microSD card slot.

The dimensions of the device are 144mm x 71.8mm x 9mm. It comes with dual-SIM (dual-standby) capability, GPS (with A-GPS support) and FM radio. The company has provided a 2,200 mAh battery in the device that it claims will provide over 11 (3G) and 18.5 (3G) hours of talk time and 134.5 hours of standby time. It will be available in three colours that include white-silver, white-gold and ink-black.

XOLOQ600 Club for Rs 6,499

The smartphone features a 4.5 inch IPS FWVGA touchscreen display (854×480 pixels resolution) with 218 ppi pixel density and is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MTK 6582M processor. The device runs on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system and comes with 512MB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 4GB that can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.

The smartphone has a 5 mega pixel autofocus rear camera with Flash that can record full HD videos (1080p) at 30 frames per second, and a front-facing VGA camera for video calling. Additional features of the camera include panorama capture, scene detection, High Dynamic Range (HDR), face beauty, face recognition, and geo-tagging, among others. On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and 3G, as well as a microSD card slot and a microUSB port.

The dimensions of the device are 131.5mm x 66mm x 97mm. The company has provided a 1,800 mAh battery in the device that it claims will offer up to 19.69 (2G) and 8.67 (3G) hours of talk time and up to 339 (2G) and 383 (3G) hours of standby time. The smartphone also has GPS (with A-GPS support), and comes with dual-SIM (GSM+WCDMA) capability. It is available in white colour.

Users can operate Q600 Club hands free with 'Smart Wake' and 'Smart Light' functionality. While Smart Wake makes it easier for you to open the app directly without unlocking the phone, Smart light ensures your screen is always lit whenever you view it. In addition, 'Hot-Knot' technology allows you to share music, videos, contacts, and pictures wirelessly, by simply touching the screens of two Hot-Knot enabled devices.
