Karbonn launches budget smartphone Titanium Dazzle for Rs 5,490; Motorola's Moto E (2nd Gen) to be priced at Rs 6,999 in India

Home grown handset and tablet manufacturer Karbonn Mobiles has further expanded its Titanium series of smartphones in India with the launch of a new device. Christened Titanium Dazzle, the smartphone sports a 5 inch display and runs on the Android operating system. Targeted at the budget segment of the market, it has been priced at Rs 5,490 in the country.

In addition, within a day of unveiling the successor to Moto E, Motorola has now revealed its India pricing. Called Moto E (2nd Gen), the device sports a slightly bigger 4.5 inch display, twice the internal storage, and runs on the latest, unadulterated version of Android. While its exact launch date has not been disclosed by the company, the 3G version of the smartphone will be available for purchase for Rs 6,999 in India.

This is the exact same price the original Moto E was retailing in the country, which can now be purchased for Rs 5,999. Details on the availability or the India pricing for the 4G LTE variant of Moto E (2nd Gen) is not available as of now.

The smartphone sports a 4.5 inch qHD IPS touchscreen display (960×540 pixels resolution) with 245 ppi pixel density and runs on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system (out of the box). While the 4G LTE version of the smartphone is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with 400MHz GPU, the 3G variant is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor with 400MHz GPU.

It has 1GB of RAM, and the internal memory of the device is 8GB that can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card. The new Moto E has a 5 mega pixel rear camera that can record HD videos (720p) at 30 frames per second, and a front facing VGA camera for video calling. Additional features of the camera include quick capture, slow motion video, burst mode, auto High Dynamic Range (HDR), and panorama, among others.

On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G LTE (depending on the region), as well as a microUSB port and a microSD card slot. The dimensions of the device are 129.9mm x 66.8mm x 5.2-12.3mm (curve design) and its weight is 145 gm. Motorola has provided a 2,390 mAh battery in the device that it claims will provide up to 24 hours of mixed usage. It has GPS (with A-GPS support), and will be available in black and white colours. This one has a slightly bigger 5 inch FWVGA touchscreen display (854×480 pixel resolution) and runs on the Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and has 1GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 8GB that can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.

Titanium Dazzle has a 5 megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED Flash that can record videos, and a 2MP front facing camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 3G, as well as a microUSB port and a microSD card slot. The company has provided a 1,850 mAh battery with the device, which also comes with GPS (with A-GPS support), dual-SIM capability, and support for 21 languages.

The smartphone comes in a dual tone body and a dimpled back design (for a firm grip), and is available in white golden and black colours. It is also equipped with gesture-enabled features including 'Swipe', which allows users to shuffle to the next song by simply swiping their hand across the screen, and 'Smart Eye' that tracks eye movement and automatically pauses videos when the user looks away from the screen.
