LG launches G3 Stylus for Rs 21,500 in India; Motorola's Moto 360 Smartwatch available for Rs 17,999

After unveiling the same early last month, Motorola has now launched its Moto 360 Smartwatch offering in the Indian market. Priced at Rs 17,999, the device is available for purchase exclusively on Flipkart.com. In addition to the Smartwatch, the company had also unveiled second generation Moto G and Moto X smartphones, which are both currently available for Rs 12,999 and Rs 31,999 respectively.

LG has also further expanded its G3 range of devices with the launch of G3 Stylus. The phablet sports a 5.5 inch display and runs on the Android operating system. Targeted at the mid-price range segment of the market, this one has been priced at Rs 21,500.

As its name states, it comes with a Rubberdium stylus pen that slides inside the phablet and complements its large display. Jotting and sketching are more precise when paired with LG's QuickMemo+ that lets users take notes or draw directly on images or maps. And the stylus is also compatible with a number of third-party handwriting and drawing apps.

Here is a look at the specifications of the devices.

The phablet sports a 5.5 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display (540x960 pixels resolution) with 200 ppi pixel density and runs on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6582 quad-core processor and has 1GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 8GB that can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.

G3 Stylus has a 13MP auto-focus rear camera with LED Flash that can also record full high definition videos (1080p) at 30 fps and a 1.3MP front facing camera for video calling. Additional features of the camera include geo-tagging, touch focus and panorama, among others. On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 3G as well as a microUSB port and a microSD card slot.

The dimensions of the device are 149.3mm x 75.9mm x 10.2mm and its weight is 163 gm. LG has provided a 3,000 mAh battery in the phablet, which it claims will provide up to 16.5 hours of talk time and 780 hours of standby time. The device has GPS (with A-GPS support), and is available in black, white and gold colours.

Powered by Android Wear, Moto 360 displays timely notifications (like weather, flight alerts, traffic, etc.) based on where you are and what you're doing. You can either glance at your wrist to see updates or just speak to get the info you need. With voice control, you can simply say 'Ok Google' to send texts, set a reminder, check the weather, and even ask for directions.

Users can keep track of their steps and know their heart rate thanks to a built-in pedometer and heart rate monitor. The company is also providing a wireless charging dock for the Smartwatch. Moto 360 comes with dual microphones, and sports a single physical button.

It has a 1.56 inch backlit LCD touchscreen display (320×290 pixels resolution) wit 205 ppi pixel density, and runs on the Android Wear OS. It is powered by a TI OMAP 3 processor and has 512MB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 4GB, and Motorola has provided a 320 mAh battery in it. The device is 46mm in diameter and its weight is 49gm (for the leather band model). It will be available in two colour options, a light stainless steel case with a gray Horween leather band, or a dark stainless steel case with a black Horween leather band.

While the device went on sale on the site only today, it is already out of stock as of now. In terms of competition, the Smartwatch will face off against Android Wear devices like Samsung Gear Live and LG G Watch that are available for Rs 15,900 and Rs 14,999 respectively. In comparison to Moto 360's round display, both of them sport square designs.
