Oplus launches XonPhone 5 smartphone for Rs 7,999 in India; XOLO Win 900s available for Rs 11,999

After unveiling the same last month, Lava's sub-brand XOLO has now launched Win Q900s smartphone in the Indian market. XOLO's first smartphone to be running on the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, Win Q900s was initially up for pre-order on Snapdeal.com. It is now available for purchase on Flipkart for Rs 11,999.

In addition, Taiwanese company Oplus has also launched its second smartphone in the country. Christened XonPhone 5, the device runs on the Android KitKat operating system. This one has been priced at Rs 7,999, and can be purchased exclusively only on Snapdeal.com. Oplus had made its Indian debut with XonPad 7 earlier this year.

XOLOXOLO Win 900s for Rs 11,999

The smartphone sports a 4.7 inch HD IPS touchscreen display (1280x720 pixels resolution) with 312 ppi pixels density and runs on the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system. It is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor and has 1GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 8GB that can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.

It has an 8 megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED Flash that can also record videos and a 2MP front facing camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, it has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 3G, as well as a microUSB port and a microSD card slot.

The dimensions of the device are 135.8mm x 67.2mm x 7.2mm and its weight is 100gm. XOLO has provided a 1,800 mAh battery in the device, which it claims will provide up to 14 hours of talk time, over 20 hours of music playback and 246 hours of standby time. It comes with dual-SIM capability and is available in black colour.

This one has a slightly bigger 5 inch HD IPS touchscreen display (1280x720 pixels resolution) with 320 ppi pixel density, and runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. It is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MTK 6582 quad-core processor and has 1GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 16GB that can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.

XonPhone 5 has an 8MP autofocus rear camera with LED Flash that can also record full HD videos and a 2MP front facing camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, it has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and 3G, as well as a microUSB port and a microSD card slot.

The dimensions of the device are 143mm x 71.5mm x 7.8mm but its exact weight remains undisclosed. Oplus has provided a 2,000 mAh battery in the device that it claims will provide up to 15 hours of talk time and 300 hours of standby time. It comes with dual-SIM capability and has GPS (with A-GPS support). It is available in silver, gold and grey colours.

In its price range, it will face off against the likes of Nokia XL (Rs 9,571), Micromax Canvas 2 Colors A120 (Rs 8,340) and Karbonn Titanium S5 Plus (Rs 8,399), among others. But its biggest competitor will be Motorola's Moto E smartphone that is available for Rs 6,999.
