Pepper Media partners Megamart to launch online fashion reality show for designers

Bangalore-based Pepper Media Pvt Ltd, a startup focused on creating original online video content and building video solutions for brands and media entities, has partnered with fashion retail major Megamart to launch an online reality show for designers.

Titled 'Megamart Fashion Designer of the Year', the show is aimed at discovering the top talent in the fashion designing space in the country. The show will be streamed exclusively on YouTube and the retail chain will rope in top names in the fashion industry as celebrity judges who will be involved in the selection process. They would judge the creativity and innovativeness the contestants, and the winner will get an opportunity to launch his/her own clothing line with Megamart.

Pepper Media has launched a microsite called Megamartfdy.peppermedia.in for contestants to register online. The contestants will go through a grooming and mentoring process where they would be given tips on styling, designing, and creating dress selections for occasions, festivities and events.

"This is the future of branded content. We are bringing together content creators and brands to create compelling content that will deliver a higher engagement with the target audience," said Radhakrishnan Ramachandran, founder and CEO of Pepper Media.

"This is a chance for aspiring designers to not only showcase their talent, but also an opportunity to work alongside top professionals in the fashion industry," added K E Venkatachalapathy, CEO of Megamart.

Pepper Media was set up early last month by the founding team of iStream.com, a video-on-demand platform that was closed down last year. The new venture brings together content creators, producers and brands to the network in order to build sustainable and monetisable global audiences. Pepper Media is currently creating branded channels with celebrities along with building a community of content creators, who could become YouTube stars in the future.

The firm aims to build a 1,000 strong content creator network over the next 12 to 18 months and is targeting a billion video views on a monthly basis by 2017 across different platforms on content created and managed by it.
