MTS Blaze 4.5 smartphone & Lava's QPAD e704 tablet launched for Rs 9,999 in India

MTS and Lava have each launched a device in the Indian market that has been priced by the companies at Rs 9,999. While Lava's offering is a 7 inch tablet christened QPAD e704, MTS has further expanded its Blaze line-up with the launch of Blaze 4.5 smartphone. Both the devices run on the Android Jelly Bean operating system.

The MTS offering also comes bundled with close to 100GB of data usage on MTS's 3G Plus network that is valid for a year. To make use of the same, customers will first need to activate the data plan by recharging the mobile phone with Rs 198. In addition, users will also need to recharge their mobile phones on a monthly basis to keep the plan activated.

As the name already states, the smartphone comes with a 4.5 inch FWVGA touchscreen display (854×480 pixel resolution) and runs on the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 quad-core processor and has 1GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 4GB, which can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.

Blaze 4.5 comes with a 5 mega pixel autofocus rear camera with Flash that can also record videos, as well as a front facing VGA camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, as well as a microUSB port and a microSD card slot. The device also has FM Radio and GPS.

The company has provided a 1,600 mAh battery in the device that it claims will provide up to 4 hours of talk time and 250 hours of stand by time. It comes with dual-SIM (GSM+CDMA) support, has GPS, and comes pre-loaded with apps like MTS TV and MTS Planet.

The tablet sports a 7 inch TFT LCD touchscreen display (1024x600 pixel resolution) and runs on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and has 1GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 4GB (available user memory is lower due to pre-installed apps and device OS), which can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.

It comes with a 3.2 mega pixel rear camera that can also record videos, as well as a 0.3MP front facing camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, as well as a microUSB port and a microSD card slot. The device comes with dual-SIM support (GSM+GSM) and has GPS.

The company has provided a 3,500 mAh battery in the device that it claims will provide up to 10 hours of talk time and 300 hours of stand by time. The tablet will come pre-loaded with a number of apps and games that include NQ Antivirus, WeChat, Viber, and Asphalt 7 HD, among others.
