Micromax launches Canvas Blaze HD & Bolt A075 smartphones for Rs 16,000 and Rs 6,499, respectively

After launching the Canvas Power A96 and Canvas Duet II smartphone offering early last month, homegrown handset and tablet manufacturer Micromax has launched two more devices in the Indian smartphone market. Christened Canvas Blaze HD and Bolt A075, the two devices run on the Android operating system and have been targeted at the mid- and low-price range segment of the market. While the Canvas Blaze HD is available for Rs 16,000, Bolt A075 has been priced at Rs 6,499.

This one sports a 5.2 inch TFT touchscreen display (480x800 pixel resolution) and runs on the Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. It is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A5 SC6825A processor and has 512MB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 4GB, (850MB for apps and 2GB for mass storage) which can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.

It has an 8 megapixel rear camera that can also record videos and a 0.3MP front facing camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, the smartphone has Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, and comes with a microUSB port & a microSD card slot. The company has provided a 2,200 mAh battery in the device that it claims will provide up to 8 hours of talk time and 200 hours of standby time. Similar to the Canvas Blaze HD the company has preloaded a number of apps and in the device that include M!Live, Opera, Spuul, Hike, Zombie Smasher, and Bubble x Slice, among others.

An upgraded version of the original Canvas Blaze smartphone, Canvas Blaze HD or EG116 sports a 5 inch IPS HD (like the name already states) touchscreen display (1280×720 pixel resolution) and runs on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MSM8625Q processor and has 1GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 4GB, (1.17GB for apps and 1.38 GB for mass storage) which can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.

It has an 8 megapixel autofocus rear camera with Flash that can also record high definition videos (720p) at 30 frames per second and a 2MP front facing camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, the smartphone has Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, and comes with a microUSB port & a microSD card slot.

The company has provided a 2,000 mAh battery in the device that it claims will provide up to 5 hours of talk time and 150 hours of standby time. The smartphone has FM radio, and comes with dual-SIM capability with both GSM and CDMA support. The company has also preloaded a number of apps in the device that include M!Live, Opera, Spuul and Hike, among others. It is available in white colour.

In its price range, Canvas Blaze HD will face off against the likes of Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos I9082 (Rs 17,999), Intex Aqua i7 (Rs 17,800), Lenovo S820 (Rs 16,100), and LG Optimus L9 P765 (Rs 15,999), among others.
