HP launches Slate 6 VoiceTab phablet for Rs 22,990; Slate 7 VoiceTab available for Rs 16,990

After unveiling the devices last month, HP has now launched its latest phablet and tablet offering in the Indian market. Christened Slate 6 VoiceTab (phablet) and Slate 7 VoiceTab (tablet), the devices have been priced at Rs 22,990 and Rs 16,990 respectively. Here is a look at their specifications.

Slate 6Slate 6 VoiceTab for Rs 22,990

The device has a 6 inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display (720x1280 pixel resolution) and runs on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz Marvell PXA1088 quad core processor and has 1GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 16GB, which can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.

It comes with a 5MP auto focus rear camera with LED flash that can also record videos, and a 2MP front facing camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, it has Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, and 3G, as well as a microSD card slot and a microUSB port. The company has provided a 3,000 mAh battery in the device.

Slate 6 Voicetab's dimensions are 165mm x 83.2mm x 8.8mm and its weight is 160 gm. It comes with dual-SIM capability (with dual standby), GPS (with A-GPS support), FM radio, and will be available in black colour.

Along with the phablet, the company has also launched a 7 inch tablet to mix things up. This one has a 7 inch (as the name already states) HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display (1280x800 pixel resolution) and also runs on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. It is powered by the same 1.2 GHz Marvell PXA1088 quad core processor and has 1GB of RAM. The internal memory as well as the memory expansion capability of the tablet is the same as its kid-brother.

This one comes with a 5MP auto focus rear camera- but no LED flash- that can also record videos, and a 2MP front facing camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, it has Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, and 3G, as well as a microSD card slot and a microUSB port. The company has provided a more powerful 4,100 mAh battery in the device, due to the larger screen size.

While the exact dimensions of the tablet are not available as of now, its 9.5mm in thickness and its weight is 325 gm. Similar to its sibling, the tablet also comes with dual-SIM capability (with dual standby), GPS (with A-GPS support), FM radio, and will be available in white colour.

The company is also offering 25GB of cloud storage free of cost with the devices. In addition, they both come with dual front speakers with stereo sound, and will have a number of apps pre-loaded in them including HP Connected Music, HP e-Print, HP Connected Photo, and HP File Manager, among others.

In terms of the pricing, the Slate 6 VoiceTab phablet will compete with the likes of Huawei Ascend Mate (Rs 24,999), Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 (Rs 26,095), Lenovo K900 (Rs 23,940), XOLO Q3000 (Rs 19,217), and Nokia Lumia 1320 (Rs 23,599), among others. On the other hand, the Slate 7 VoiceTab tablet will face off against XOLO Play Tegra Note Tablet (Rs 15,943), Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 T211 (Rs 16,790), Asus MeMO Pad ME172V (Rs 16,999), and Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 T210 (Rs 17,500), among others.
