GaanaGaana.com, a music streaming service from the house of Times Internet Ltd, has revamped its iOS and Android apps which come packed with professionally curated playlists & radios, social discovery and personalisation features, the company announced in a blog post.

The new version offers music curated by radio jockeys and provides hundreds of interactive radios and thousands of playlists made by the firm as well as its users for others to choose from.

The upgraded version boasts a responsive design, which claims to be faster and can adjust to smaller and bigger screens alike. It also aims to provide a faster and improved search engine which can yield better results segregated into songs, albums and artists.

With the new radio stations and celebrity playlists, one can tune into his/her favourite radio streams or listen to the celebrity playlists right from the home page.

The company said that it will soon upgrade the app further which will feature radio stations based on artist, genre and other categories.

In October this year, Gaana had revamped its site by adding thousands of editorially curated playlists, professionally programmed radio streams and a host of social and personalisation features. It also offered listeners an opportunity to tune into a variety of pre-programmed radio streams, featuring popular radio jockeys' bytes, celebrity favourites and loads of curated music.

This comes at a time when a close rival Dhingana is rumoured to be close to shutting down which would in effect leave Gaana largely competing with Saavn in the music streaming business.
