SingTel-One97-logoSingaporean telecom major SingTel has inked a partnership with Indian mobile internet firm One97 Communications, as part of which One97 will provide its portfolio of games (from Indian game developers) for SingTel and PlayPhone's mobile gaming store WePlay. The company will also offer games from SingTel's platform to Indian gamers. SingTel launched WePlay in Singapore earlier this year in partnership with global mobile social gaming company PlayPhone.

"The catalog of games from SingTel will now be accessible for Indian mobile phone users, and One97 will be an aggregator and distributor of these games," said Vijay Shekhar Sharma, CMD, One97. He said it had also lowered prices of the games to Rs 35-50 from $1.5-2 (over Rs 124), for Indian consumers.

Last month, One97 relaunched its gaming vertical GamePind under Paytm Games. The store was launched in India, Dubai and Bangladesh a few months back, and has already crossed half a million users mark.

One97 also shared that it has integrated Paytm.com with Vodafone and Idea for in-app purchases and billing mechanism. Sharma said the organisation is formulating the same mechanism with other telecom operators, including Airtel and BSNL.
