iball-slideEarly last month, homegrown hardware manufacturer iBall had launched a new Android smartphone called Andi 4a Projector, which came with an in-built 35 Lumens projector, and was capable of video output up to a distance of 8 to 10 feet. The company has now added yet another tablet offering to its portfolio. The new device, christened Slide 3G 8072 runs on the Android operating system, and has been priced a tad higher than its predecessor (Slide 7334i 3G for Rs 10,499) at Rs 11,999. Here is a look at the specifications of the device.

Unlike its predecessor, which had a 7 inch display, this one sports an 8-inch capacitive touchscreen display (1024x768 pixels resolution). It is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor and runs on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. It has 1 GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32 GB with a microSD card.

Slide 3G 8072 has a 2 mega pixel camera that can also record videos and a VGA front-facing camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, the device has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G (as the name already suggests), and it also has a microUSB port and a microSD card slot. The exact dimensions of the tablet are not available as of now, but the tablet is powered by a 4,000 mAh battery.

It will be available in black and grey colours, and comes with wireless FM radio. In addition, the device is capable of high definition (HD) video playback, has GPS (with A-GPS support) and comes with dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) support.

In the same range, you can get your hands on tablets like iberry Auxus AX03G (Rs 10,790), Micromax Funbook Pro (Rs 10,850), HCL Me Connect 3G (Rs 11,499), Zync Z1000 (Rs 10,990), Xolo Play Tab 7.0 (Rs 12,999), and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (Rs 12,499). But the best buy in this range (according to us) is Google's Nexus 7 tablet, which is available for as low as Rs 9,999 (for the 16GB version).

Besides covering the low-price segment, iBall also offers a number of mid-market smartphones and tablets in the country. Earlier this year, the company launched its costliest smartphone offering, Andi 4.7G Cobalt, for Rs 19,995. Prior to that, it came up with a Quad-core tablet offering, Slide Q9703, which sports a 9.7 inch display (2048 x 1536 pixel resolution) and is priced at Rs 15,999.
