After unveiling it at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January this year, Lenovo has now launched its phablet offering in the Indian market. The device, called K900, has a 5.5 inch screen and runs on the Android operating system. The phablet is priced at Rs 32,995 and will be available in the country from next month. Besides K900, the company has launched five new smartphones, priced between Rs 8,689 and Rs 26,399. Here is a look at the specifications.

Lenovo K900

This phablet has a 5.5 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display (1080×1920 pixel resolution) with 401 pixels per inch density and runs on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. It is powered by a 2 GHz Intel Atom Z2580 dual core processor, has 2 GB RAM and comes with 16 GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 32 GB with a microSD card. The Intel-powered device also features an Intel graphics media accelerator engine running a PowerVR SGX 544MP2 GPU, which the company claims will triple the graphics performance.

The device sports a 13 megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED Flash that can record full high definition videos (1080p) at 30 frames per second and a 2 MP front-facing camera for video calling. The front camera has also been widened to an 88 degree viewing angle (the widest available on a smartphone front camera) for convenient self-photographs and video calls.

On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G and a microSD card slot. It has a 2,500 mAh battery (which we feel is a little less for such a large-screen device) and comes with GPS with A-GPS support. The dimensions of the device are 157mm x 78mm x 6.9mm and it weighs 162 gm. The phablet features a stereo FM radio and will be available in black and grey colours.

The company has also launched five new smartphones in India, namely, A390 (Rs 8,689), A706 (Rs 15,949), S820 (Rs 19,599), P780 (Rs 22,529) and S920 (Rs 26,399). See table for more information on the devices.

While K900 has decent specifications, we will have to wait and see whether customers will actually pay Rs 30,000-plus for a Lenovo smartphone. What is your take on these devices and which one do you prefer to buy? Please share your comments below.
