Former Zeebo CEO Salil Bhargava joins digital comics & animation firm Graphic India as COO

Salil Bhargava, former CEO of Zeebo Interactive Studios, has joined Graphic India as chief operating officer. Graphic India is a digital comics and animation firm focused on creating mythological and superhero characters for the Indian youth market. It is owned by Sharad Devarajan's Liquid Comics LLC and Peter Chernin's CA Media LP, the Asian investment arm of Los Angeles-based entertainment and digital media firm The Chernin Group (TCG). The move was first reported by MediaNama .

Graphic India was launched last year by media entrepreneurs Devarajan, Gotham Chopra and Suresh Seetharaman, as a subsidiary of the US comic book company Liquid Comics. But in January this year, CA Media acquired a significant minority stake in the company.

Zeebo is a joint venture between Qualcomm, Educomp Solutions and Lakshya Digital, creating a digital platform for children to learn, play and connect.

Bhargava graduated from Eli Broad Graduate School of Management at Michigan State University and started his career in 2000 with NBCi as international product manager. Prior to Zeebo, he was CEO at Jump Games, a mobile gaming and publishing firm and a part of Reliance Entertainment. Earlier, he had been the chief marketing officer at Paradox Studios which published BattleDust, India's first 3D PC game. He also served as manager (strategic alliances & products) at Rediff.com where he developed the company's mobile apps delivery platform.
