Online video service iStream.com ties up with Ten Sports for live streaming US Open

Online video service iStream.com has exclusively partnered with Ten Sports to live stream US Open. Viewers can log on to to watch matches live. Other than this, live chat with fans via inbuilt social media elements will also be available. Viewers would also be able to watch match highlights and 'not-to-miss' moments of the tournament. iStream.com will host the schedule, team statistics and player profiles.

Radhakrishnan Ramachandran, founder & CEO of iStream.com, said in a statement, "After Euro 2012 and the just concluded India Sri Lanka cricket series, we are excited to bring US Open. We see this tie-up with Ten Sports as the beginning of a long term partnership."

According to Atul Pande, CEO, Ten Sports "We are committed to maximizing our reach to sports fans and our partnership with iStream.com helps in enhancing the reach and compliments our coverage of the event on TEN Sports channels.''

In November, 2011, iStream.com had raised $ 5 million from PE firm Saif Partners. In March, iStream launched a free video app for Windows 8 that enables users to get access to videos across news, TV and movies in English, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu. iStream is India's first and only video app to be featured in the Windows 8 app store, according to the company.

Online video streaming is among the fastest-growing segments in the digital media space with the likes of Netflix and Hulu dominating advanced markets like the US.
