VCCircle Angel Summit to capture the pulse of early-stage investment in India
Early-stage investment has hit a new high this year with the first five months recording 56 deals in both angel and seed investments in India. To put that in context, the entire last year India recorded 66 early stage investment deals. So, although poor macroeconomic factors are putting a spanner in the wheels of PE investment, the startup ecosystem is seeing interest from investors like never before.
It's in this context, we are coming up with the third edition of VCCircle India Angel Summit 2012 on June 20 at The Grand hotel in Delhi. The summit will bring together the biggest names from the angel and seed-stage investment community, addressing issues and reflecting on the road ahead for the startup ecosystem. It will also feature some successful entrepreneurs sharing their experience of raising early-stage finance and scaling up their ventures.
The summit will see speakers such as Karthik Reddy (Blume Ventures), Kunal Bahl (Snapdeal), Sameer Guglani (The Morpheus), Vishal Gondal (Indiagames), Srinivasu MN (BillDesk), Girish Batra (NetAmbit), Bijaei Jayaraj (Loylty Rewardz), Bhavish Agarwal (Olacabs), Ravi Gururaj (Citrix Accelerators), Kartik Varma (PropTiger), Pranay Gupta (iAccelerator, CIIE) and Ambarish Gupta (Knowlarity).
The summit will kick off with a panel discussing the nuances of raising angel funding and addressing startups if their business strategies are in place. The panellists will include a mix of investors and entrepreneurs, discussing what it takes to raise angel funding from the investors today.
Snapdeal's Bahl will then share his experience of pivoting the business model and syncing it with the largest market opportunity.
Among others, BillDesk's Srinivasu will talk about using angel and VC money efficiently and effectively; PropTiger's Varma will share nuggets about choosing the right investor; Knowlarity's Gupta will discuss how to hire the right team and retain them, and Loylty Rewardz's Jayaraj will go a step back and talk about when it is the right time for an entrepreneur to start.
The summit also has a segment where five handpicked startups will showcase their ideas and talk about their initial steps.
