Dentsu India Appoints Glen Ireland As CEO, Digital

Japanese advertising group Dentsu, has appointed Glen Ireland as CEO of its digital arm. Glen will be responsible for building a strong digital competence including creative, technical, strategy, account management and media capabilities.

Glen has more than 19 years of experience in marketing communications and prior to joining Dentsu, and for over a year was working as managing partner at digital marketing solutions company 8020, Gurgaon. He is also founder-director at IDMI.

In past, he has also worked at Wunderman, Australia as digital planning director, CRM strategist & business director at Publicis Mojo, Sydney and VP & business unit head at RMG Connect worldwide.

In India, Glen has been vice-president and branch manager at JWT's RMG Connectat JWT's RMG Connect where he built up a cross functional team managing clients including ITC's Wills Lifestyle, Spice Mobile, Oracle, SBI cards, Timex, Xerox and Avaya.

In June, Rohit Ohri also joined Dentsu from JWT where he was the senior vice-president and managing director.

Dentsu had early this year taken over its India joint ventures--Dentsu Communications Pvt. Ltd., Dentsu Marcom Pvt. Ltd and Dentsu Creative Impact Pvt Ltd--by buying the 26 per cent stake held by partner Sandeep Goyal through an entity called Mogae Consultants Pvt Ltd. Dentsu is the largest advertising company in Japan(which accounts for 10.1 per cent of the global market) in terms of net revenues and maintains the top share in all mass media formats in the home market.
