While the world is running after high end, power packed touchscreen smartphones, not everyone can afford their price tag. Beetel and Micromax have launched their low priced touchscreen mobile phones keeping in mind that there is a lot of demand of touchscreen phones at the mass end of the market in India.

Micromax has also announced the launch of X222, a budget touchscreen phone (again with dual SIM capabilities) that will be available in India for a price of around Rs 2,000.

Unlike Beetel's GD-470, the X222 has a 2.4 inch resistive touchscreen display (240x320 pixel resolution) and it comes with a VGA camera for clicking pictures. It comes with dual SIM capabilities (GSM) and the internal memory of the device is expandable up to 8GB with a microSD card.
