IMImobile's 'My SMS' Enables Local Language SMS

IMImobile, a Mobile Value Added Services (VAS) provider has announced the launch of 'My SMS', an application that allows users to access content in their local language.

My SMS is an SMS based application which allows user to request SMS services in their native language and get messages in requested language on demand. It will allow users to receive SMS in their language irrespective of the make of his handset (which is a good thing since most devices today are inherently incapable of rendering Indic language content on their screens).

Vishwanath Alluri, Founder & CEO, IMImobile, said, "My SMS application can be provided as a white-label application also for telecom operators, device manufacturers, media companies and enterprises. This is the next step towards our rural approach after our Cell Shakti service."

IMImobile hosts its technology platforms and services in data centres worldwide and currently enables 71 operator and blue-chip enterprise customers in 59 countries around the world. The company recently acquired 100 per cent of UK mobile content and services company WIN Plc and now has more than 600 employees and a global presence across Asia, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and Africa.

The service is currently available in 8 languages which include English, Hindi, Telegu, Tamil, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi and Bangla, although more languages can be added. The applications easy backend integration allows easy addition and deletion of categories and also the menu can be customized according to operator's requirement.
