NDTV & InMobi In Mobile Advertising Tie-Up For Apps
The partnership is an exclusive one. Atul Satija, vice-president and managing director, APAC at InMobi said, "Earlier, the advertising options offered by NDTV inside its apps were more or less static banner advertising. We will offer rich media advertising options, which will be interactive in nature."
According to the partnership terms, InMobi will only sell ad inventory for NDTV's iOS and Android apps and not for the BlackBerry app. Ad slots will be provided in the form of photo and video sections of apps. The ad inventory will be sold on cost-per thousand impression basis.
About six mobile apps are owned by NDTV including four different versions of NDTV News (iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry and Android versions) and two versions of NDTV Cricket (iPhone and Android).
InMobi has said that about two lakh NDTV apps have been downloaded so far globally.
InMobi recently acquired US-based mobile advertising solutions provider Sprouts, that enables advertisers to create (HTML5-based) rich media ads for mobile devices. Sprout works with brands such as Nokia, Disney, HTC, Chevrolet, Paramount Pictures and Sega.
InMobi's network reaches 314 million consumers in over 165 countries and records 36.2 billion mobile ad impressions monthly.
