Times Internet Establishes Incubation Centre T-Labs

In a move to encourage innovation and entrepreneurs in digital domains, Times Internet Ltd (Indiatimes), a subsidiary of BCCL, has set up an incubation facility called T-Labs.

T-Labs, according to the company, will handhold startups and help them define and detail their concept into a business plan. It will further aid them in implementing the idea and refining it through its own infrastructure.

Rishi Khiani, CEO, Times Internet Ltd, said, "We are providing a much-needed platform to aspiring entrepreneurs to shape their ideas into sustainable business models. Entrepreneurship will script the next big Indian growth story. T-Labs is a step towards giving a concrete shape to the startup ecosystem of the country. Our mentorship and quality leadership would ensure that the products of these budding entrepreneurs would compete with the very best in internet and mobile industry."

Times Internet Ltd claims its flagship website Indiatimes.com commands more than 1 billion page views per month. Indiatimes partnered with Youtube to launch a video channel during the IPL which registered 72 million page views globally. It runs a deals and discounts service TimesDeal.com in six cities in India. The company also partnered with California-based Shorthand Mobile Inc. to launch an app called SMS Browser.
