Two year old start-up One Mobikwik Systems Private Limited that operates mobile, DTH and datacard recharge services provider Mobikwik has introduced a new service which allows a user to recharge mobile or DTH subscription using Cash. One can pay cash at his/her doorstep to recharge mobile, datacard or DTH connection. Hence, there isn’t any use your credit or debit card or netbanking.

Currently, there is no extra charge for this service

Mobikwik had earlier started services like SMS Recharge, Dial Recharge, Schedule Recharge and also introduced an online wallet for prepaid recharges called mobikwik balance.

Founded by Bipin Preet Singh, MobiKwik is there since Q3 2009. An alumnus of IIT Delhi, Singh has previously worked with Intel, Nvidia, Freescale Semiconductors. He has also dabbled in advertising as a partner with Star Auto and in civic advocacy as a volunteer with Janagraaha.

There are several players in the market in the same domain as Mobikwik including One97 backed Paytm and Freecharge.in, which was funded by Sequoia Capital recently.

How CashPay Works:

First one needs to go to ‘my account’ and click on ‘add to Mobikwik Balance’. Then one needs to enter an amount between 500 and 2000. After that ‘select’ free coupons if one wants them or else just go to payment options. In payment options, select ‘CashPay’ and click on Pay.

Then its mandatory to enter an address where Mobikwik can send representatives to collect cash. One should note down the transaction ID which is generated by Mobikwik. Cash collection will be at user’s doorstep, the same day or the next day. As soon as Mobikwik gets the update from cash collection, they update the customer’s mobikwik balance.

Mobikwik balance can be used to recharge online, using SMS, a voice call, or even a mobile app for your Java Phone or Android Phone.
