ah! Ventures launches marketplace to provide services for startups

Early stage venture capital firm ah! Ventures has launched a marketplace to provide startups services such as branding, legal advisory, finance, staffing and more.

The ah! Marketplace connects startups with relevant service providers on the basis of a pre-decided package, the company said in a statement.

The service providers currently live on the platform include PitchWorx, a creative design company offering design, presentation and video packages; Pronto Infotech, an IT consultancy firm providing business process management services to global companies; and ah! Ventures, which helps startups not only raise funds but also assists in recruitment and offering facilities.

"In the nascent stages, startups have to be cost effective, yet they have to simultaneously focus on being technologically innovative. These bundled monthly packages help the entrepreneurs follow a monetarily lean model," said Abhijeet Kumar, co-founder of ah! Ventures.

ah! Ventures' investments this year include bitcoin exchange Unocoin, online wedding planner Shaadisaga, online jewellery marketplace Joolz, talent acquisition platform Kickstart Jobs, Hindi social networking platform ShabdaNagari, on-demand chauffeur provider DriversKart and matchmaking app, Aisle.

Last month, ah Ventures! along with Noida-based AdvantEdge Incubators and Mark Mobius, executive chairman of Franklin Templeton Investments, made successful exits in engineering startup Entropy Innovations, which runs Express Bike Wash. In March 2015, ah! Ventures along with other angel investors exited Harness Handitouch, which operates ed-tech firm Unio.

Incepted in 2012, the venture capital firm has made investments via its many arms such as ah! Seeders, ah! Angels and ah! VCs.

ah! Seeders, its basic unit, invests between $50,000 and $150,000 in early stage startups which are still on the drawing board while ah! Angels invests between $200,000 and $600,000 on firms with proof of concept projects that have some user traction. ah! VCs follows up its angel funds where the ticket size of investment is over a million dollars.
