Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe, Zenfone 3 Ultra go on sale in India

Taiwanese handset maker Asus said its smartphones Zenfone 3 Deluxe and Zenfone 3 Ultra are now available in India. The Asus Zenfone 3 series was unveiled at an event in New Delhi in August 2016.

Zenfone 3 Deluxe with Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor are priced at Rs 62,999 and Rs 49,999, respectively. The smartphone is available in two colors–Glacier Silver and Sand Gold. Zenfone 3 Ultra is priced at Rs 49,999.

"With Zenfone 3 Deluxe and Zenfone 3 Ultra, we aim at revolutionising the smartphone space in India. These smartphones seamlessly combine high-end features in a luxurious form factor," Peter Chang, region head – South Asia and country manage, Asus India, said in a statement.

Asus claims Zenfone 3 Deluxe is the world's first all-metal smartphone. The device is powered by 6GB RAM and features 5.7-inch Super-AMOLED full-HD display. It offers a 23MP camera with Sony IMX318 image sensor.

The phone also comes with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology and a reversible USB 3.0 Type-C port that makes connecting charging and accessory cables effortless.

According to the firm, Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra is designed for multimedia lovers. The phone features a 6.8-inch Full HD (1920x1080) display. Zenfone 3 Ultra is equipped with the same high-resolution 23MP camera and Asus TriTech auto-focus system as Zenfone 3 Deluxe.

The phone has a high-capacity 4600mAh battery and Quick Charge 3.0 technology for fast charging. The company claims that the phone even works as a power bank with 1.5A output for quickly charging other mobile devices.

With Asus Zenfone 3 series, the firm has come out with a definite plan to target the high-end and premium smartphone category.

Zenfone 3 Deluxe priced at Rs 62,999 it is set to face stiff competition with likes of newly launched Google Pixel and Pixel XL, Samsung's S7 Edge and iPhone 7.

Both Zenfone 3 Deluxe and Zenfone 3 Ultra thrive in design, camera specs and powerful hardware. However, whether the two phones will be able to attract customers in the premium category remains to be seen.
