Recently, Uber's chief rival and market leader in China Didi Chuxing closed a $4.5 billion round of funding which included Silicon Valley major Apple Inc contributing to the tune of $1 billion. Late last year, Didi Chuxing along with Ola, Lyft and a few other taxi platforms decided to enter into a global alliance. They described it as an initiative "to offer their users a seamless experience across international borders", a good way to describe what in effect was an anti-Uber International alliance. This happened just after news came out that Didi was one of the many investors which collectively put around $500 million in Ola. Didi put in about $30 million and is expected to participate in Ola's latest round of funding wherein the Indian taxi aggregator is seeking to raise $300 million.
