San Francisco- and Chennai-headquartered cloud-based customer service software provider Freshdesk Inc has launched a customer relationship management (CRM) solution designed for corporate sales teams.
The product, Freshsales, will feature sales functions including lead, deal and account management; email and phone integration, user behaviour tracking as well as lead scoring and reporting on a single product, doing away with the task of multiple integrations onto a CRM platform. The mobile app version of the solution will be available on iOS and Android.
This is the fourth addition to Freshdesk's suite of products that includes its flagship product, Freshdesk, a cloud-based software solution that allows organisations to support customers through email, phone, websites, forums and social media; Freshservice, a service desk and IT service management solution; and Hotline.io, an in-app support and engagement platform for mobile-first businesses.
"As a fast-growing SaaS business, we needed a solution that empowered our sales team with context-based on user activity, prioritised leads based on engagement and enhanced sales representative productivity," said Girish Mathrubootham, CEO of Freshdesk. "For years, our sales team struggled to integrate all the products we needed into one of the leading CRM tools but in the end, it was still just an expensive manual dumping ground for data," he added.
Founded in 2010 by former Zoho employees Girish Mathrubootham and Shan Krishnasamy, Freshdesk is a SaaS-based startup that provides cloud-based customer engagement solutions for companies.
The firm, which is backed Tiger Global, Accel Partners and Google Capital, has raised $94 million to date. In April last year, it had raised $50 million (Rs 314 crore) in a Series E round of funding from its three existing investors, Tiger Global (which led the round) Accel Partners and Google Capital.
Freshdesk has also made five acquisitions over the last year. In April this year, it had acquired Faridabad-based Memeticlabs Technologies Pvt Ltd that operates social media listening and analytics platform Airwoot for an undisclosed amount.
In February, it had acquired Pune-based visual collaboration platform Framebench for an undisclosed sum. In December last, Freshdesk had acquired in-app customer support platform Konotor for an undisclosed amount.
The startup counts 3M, Honda, Bridgestone, Hugo Boss, University of Pennsylvania, Toshiba and Cisco among its clients.
