Scepticism over funding opportunities for startups in the year ahead is growing. The focus is shifting to unit economics from rapid growth. And the scope of building a large consumer base by burning millions of dollars is getting increasingly limited. No wonder, then, that startups are scrambling for alternative business strategies that can help them navigate their way out of a tough and constrained funding environment.
To explore viable ways and means for startups to survive the possible tough times ahead, the 2016 Bengaluru edition of Techcircle Startup has put together a panel that will discuss the topic ‘Growth Models for startups: Building scale in the challenging funding environment’.
The panelists include Sudhir Sethi, founder, chairman and managing director at IDG Ventures; Ambiga Dhiraj, CEO at Musigma; Byju Raveendran, founder of ed-tech firm Byju’s; and Rajesh Raju, managing director at Kalaari Capital. The panel will deliberate on the issues at hand and suggest effective strategies to counter a slowdown in funding.
