Balaji Telefilms, the homegrown TV content and film producer company, is set to enter the OTT space with a differentiated offering. Unlike rivals such as Hooq, Spuul and Ditto TV, Balaji’s digital platform ALT will primarily air original content.
To be launched this summer, ALT draws its inspiration from US-based digital content broadcaster Netflix.
Sameer Nair, Group CEO of Balaji Telefilms, says that everyone in this world is inspired by someone else. “Netflix and Amazon Prime were inspired by the ABCs and NBCs of this world,” he says.
