Doctor Insta gets $500K in pre-Series A round

DoctorInsta1Doctor Insta Pvt Ltd, which provides healthcare consultation through video conferencing, has received pre-Series A funding of $500,000 (Rs 3.31 crore) from angel investor Rishi Parti and BrahmaX Ventures, a US-based venture capital firm.

The company, which launched its services early this year, is also planning to raise an additional funding of up to $2 million (Rs 13.26 crore), it said in a statement.

“The funds have been invested in research and deployment of the product,” said Amit Munjal, co-founder and CEO, Doctor Insta.

Funds to be raised in the next round will be used in expanding the company’s team, marketing and innovating products, he said.

Rishi Parti is founder and managing director of Info-X that provides solutions to logistics companies. BrahmaX focuses on startups in the US and India.

Doctor Insta enables customers to seek consultation from doctors, pediatricians, psychologists and nutritionists for a fee of Rs 400 for a 30-minute online/video/mobile interaction. It can be accessed through Android and iOS smartphones.

Other players in the space include HealthEnablr India Pvt Ltd, iClinic Healthcare Pvt Ltd, Welcome Cure Pvt Ltd and mHealth Ventures India Pvt Ltd.

In December, Mumbai-based mHealth Ventures raised $1 million (Rs 6.63 crore) in its pre-Series A round led by Ronnie Screwvala’s Unilazer Ventures.
