Digital analytics startup PropheSee raises $516K in angel round

PropheSee Solutions Pvt Ltd, a Delhi-based digital analytics startup, has raised $516,000 (around Rs 3.3 crore) in angel funding from Indian Angel Network (IAN) and Stanford Angels and Entrepreneurs India (SA&E India).

Ajay Lavakare, who led the round on behalf of IAN and SA&E India, will be joining the board of directors of the company.

The new capital will be used to scale technology and build core talent.

PropheSee is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that provides brands with data driven insights. In the next six months, the company will be focussing on developing industry specific analytics and modules, and build further audience listening and community management capabilities.

PropheSee has provided analytics for several brands such as Faith Connexion, Rock N Shop, NDTV's Indian Roots, MissMalini and PVR, among others.

"With its affordable cost to small and medium businesses and its focus on empowering companies to understand and act upon their social/digital performance, PropheSee has the potential to scale rapidly," said Lavakare. He was earlier MD of RMS Risk Management Solutions Ltd.

PropheSee was founded by Ishaan Sethi, Harshil Gurha and Jitesh Luthra in November 2014. Sethi is an alumnus of Brown University and has worked on big data marketing analytics for brands such as Sony Pictures, Showtime, Universal Pictures, etc. Gurha and Luthra are computer engineering graduates from Manipal University. Gurha has previously worked with Samsung India, and Luthra has woked with KPMG India.

PropheSee competes with data analytics companies such as Mumbai-based Customer360, which recently got acquired by Interactive Intelligence.
