Lava IRIS Fuel 60 smartphone launched for Rs 8,888 in India; HTC Desire 620G available for Rs 15,900

Taiwanese manufacturer of tablets and smartphones HTC has further expanded its Desire range of smartphones with the launch of Desire 620G. A variant of the Desire 620 that was unveiled late last month, it sports a 5 inch display and runs on the Android operating system. While the company has not officially launched the device in the country as of now, it is available for purchase on a number of e-commerce stores (like Snapdeal.com and The Mobile Store) for Rs 15,900.

In addition, Lava has also added another smartphone to its IRIS Fuel family of devices. Called Fuel 60, this one is a successor to the Fuel 50 smartphone. The highlight of the device is its mammoth 4,000 mAh battery, which the company claims will provide over a day of talk time on 2G. This one has been launched for Rs 8,888 in the country.

"Today, we announce the launch of a new member to our Fuel series of high powered battery smartphones. Iris Fuel 60 is designed to provide users a relief from all battery and power bank hassles," said Navin Chawla, VP and head product, Lava International.

HTCHTC Desire 620G for Rs 15,900

The smartphone sports a 5 inch HD capacitive touchscreen display (720×1280 pixels resolution) and runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek processor and has 1GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 8GB that can be expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.

Desire 620G has an 8 megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED Flash that can record full high definition videos (1080p) at 30 frames per second, and a 5 MP front-facing camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 3G, as well as a microSD card slot and a microUSB port.

The dimensions of the device are 150.1mm x 72.7mm x 9.6mm and its weight is 160 gm. The company has provided a 2,100 mAh battery in the device, which also comes with dual-SIM capability and GPS (with A-GPS support). It is available in white and grey colours.

It is powered by a 1.3 quad-core Cortex A7 processor and has 1GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 8GB (2.49GB storage available to the user), which can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.

Lava IRIS Fuel 60 has a 10MP autofocus rear camera (with BSI-II Sensor) with LED Flash that can record full HD videos (1080p) at 30 fps, and a 2MP front facing camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, 3G, as well as a microUSB port and a microSD card slot. The company has provided a 4,000 mAh battery in the device that it claims will provide up to 32 and 13.5 hours of talk time on 2G and 3G respectively.

The dimensions of the device are 144.8 mm x 72.8 mm x 10.2 mm and its weight is 174 gm. It comes with dual-SIM support, GPS (with A-GPS support) and FM radio. It is available in black and white colours. Users can double tap on the screen to wake up the phone. They can also draw a letter with their hand on the screen or just wave over it and the smartphone responds with its gesture recognition feature- like opening music playlist, WhatsApp, and camera etc.
