ASUS has further expanded its Transformer Series with the launch three new devices in the country. The first one is a 10.1 inch tablet called Transformer Pad TF103, which runs on the Android operating system. Transformer T200 is a 2-in-1 ultraportable laptop that can also be transformed into an 11.6 tablet.
In comparison, Transformer Flip Book is a 15.6 inch laptop with a 360-degree rotating touchscreen. While Transformer Pad TF103 has been priced at Rs 19,999 in the country, Transformer Flip Book and Transformer T200 will be available for Rs 47,999 and Rs 35,999 respectively. The first two are being offered in the market as of now, but Transformer Book T200 will be made available for purchase starting next month.
Each Transformer series product also includes ASUS WebStorage, which offers its users with storage, sharing, and syncing of data like business presentations, photo albums, or their favourite multimedia content.
Here is a look at the specifications of the devices.
The tablet has a 10.1 inch IPS WXGA touchscreen display (1280Ã—800 pixels resolution) and runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system (with ASUS ZenUI). It is powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 dual-core processor and has 1GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 8GB that can be further expanded up to 64GB with a microSD card.
It comes with a 2 megapixel rear camera that can also record videos and a 0.3MP front-facing camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, as well as a microUSB port and a microSD card slot.
Transformer Pad TF103 is 9.9 mm in thickness and weighs 550 gm. ASUS has provided a 5,070 mAh battery in the device that it claims will provide up to 9.5 hours of web surfing and video playback. It also comes with GPS (with A-GPS support), and will available in black and white colours. The company is also providing an optional keyboard with the tablet.
The 2-in-1 ultraportable laptop comes with a detachable keyboard dock that can be removed to turn the device into a full-fledged tablet. This one has a slightly bigger 11.6 inch HD touchscreen display (1366 x 768 pixels resolution) and runs on the Windows 8.1 operating system. It is powered by an Intel Z3775 Bay Trail processor and has 2GB of RAM.
The internal memory of the device is 32GB that can be further expanded up to 500GB. It comes with a 5 megapixel rear camera that can also record videos and a 2MP front-facing camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, as well as a microUSB port and a microSD card slot.
When connected with the keyboard dock, a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, a RJ45 LAN Jack, a microUSB port and a microHDMI port is also added to the device. The dimensions of Transformer Book T200 are 305 mm x 194 mm x 11.95 mm and its weight is 780 gm. According to ASUS, the 2-in-1 will provide up to 10.4 hours of battery life, and will be available in dark blue colour.
The laptop sports a 15.6 inch HD touchscreen display (1366 x 768 pixels resolution) and runs on the Windows 8.1 operating system. It comes with a hinge design that enables the screen to be set at any angle between zero and 360 degrees (hence the name Flip Book). The device is powered by an Intel Core i3 processor and has 4GB of RAM. The device comes with 1TB of internal storage.
It has a VGA camera for video calling, and on the connectivity front, it comes with Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, a USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, a RJ45 LAN Jack, a HDMI port and a SD card reader. The dimensions of the device are 380 cm x 258 cm x 22 cm and its weight is 2.1 kg. It will be available in black colour.
An upgraded model of the laptop is also being offered by ASUS that comes with an Intel Core i5 processor. This one has been priced at Rs 53,999.
