Lava Iris Pro 30+ launched for Rs 11,990; Karbonn Titanium S19 selfie smartphone available for Rs 8,999

Six months after launching the IRIS Pro 30 smartphone, Lava has now introduced an upgraded version of the same in the Indian market. Christened IRIS Pro 30+, the device runs on the Android operating system and sports a 13MP camera. It has been priced at Rs 11,990 and will be available for purchase early next week.

"We are pleased to take forward our proposition of 'we put the art in smart' for our Iris Pro series with the launch of Iris Pro 30+. Based on customer preferences backed by our research, we have introduced enhancements in the camera, processor and internal memory," said Navin Chawla, VP- product at Lava International.

In addition, Karbonn has also further expanded its smartphone portfolio in the country with Titanium S19. Dubbed as a selfie phone, the device has a 5MP front camera (with an IR film) that the company claims will enable users to capture great selfies. Targeted at the under Rs 10,000 price range, this one is available for as low as Rs 8,999.

"Selfies are increasingly becoming a medium of self-expression among the youth, contributing to its phenomenal popularity across social media platforms. Catering to the consumers' demand, Karbonn has launched a smartphone device powered with advanced photography features and interactive camera apps," said Shashin Devsare, executive director, Karbonn.

The smartphone has a 4.7 inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display (1280x720 pixel resolution) and runs on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. It is powered by a 1.5 quad-core processor and has 1GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 16GB, which can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.

It comes with a 13 mega pixel autofocus rear camera (has BSI sensor) with dual LED Flash that can also record HD videos, as well as a 3MP front facing camera for video calling. Additional features of the camera include geo-tagging, panorama, and High Dynamic Range (HDR), etc. On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 3G, as well as a microUSB port and a microSD card slot.

The dimensions of the device are 138 mm x 67.5 mm x 7.9 mm, and its weight is 116 gm. Lava has provided a 2,000 mAh battery in the smartphone, which it claims will provide up to 15 hours of talk time and 390 hours of standby time. It comes with dual-SIM support, GPS (with A-GPS support) and has a FM radio. IRIS Pro 30+ will be available in black colour.

This one sports a slightly larger 5 inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display (1280x720 pixel resolution) and runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. It is powered by a 1.3 quad-core processor and has 1GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 8GB that can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.

Titanium S19 also comes with a 13 mega pixel autofocus rear camera (has BSI sensor) with Flash that can also record full HD videos, and a 5MP front facing camera for video calling and selfies. Additional features of the camera include voice capture, burst mode (continuous 40 shots), panorama, and smile detection, etc. On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, as well as a microUSB port and a microSD card slot.

Karbonn has provided a 2,000 mAh battery in the device, which comes with dual-SIM support and GPS (with A-GPS support). The smartphone also comes pre-loaded with the entire suite of Google apps (like Google Talk, YouTube, Gmail, Google Play, Google Maps, and Google Chrome). It is available in black and white colour options.
