In the tenth episode of TC Show Off, a weekly show that provides startups a platform to showcase themselves, their business models, the core USP etc., Noida-based Qureeus Eduventures showcases how its Android app Pocket Science gives a fun twist to science learning.

Based on the CBSE curriculum, the app allows students to learn through anagrams, crosswords, videos and challenges. According to the startup, the app has seen over 5000 downloads till date with an engagement time of over 416 hours.

"In a year, we are looking to accomplish 20,000 downloads across eighth, ninth and tenth classes. We are also creating discussion forums within the application. Earlier students used to ask questions by emailing them, but now they've institutionalised it," said Vineesh Kumar, founder, Qureeus Eduventures.

While the app is engaging the students, the challenge is to reach out to the parents as they are the one who monetise the app. A member of the The Morpheus accelerator, the startup is also looking to raise Rs 1 crore to increase the team size and accelerate the content and app development.

The startup competes with iProf and Edutor who are offering tablet-based learning solutions.
