Within a month of local information services firm Getit Infomedia re-branding its corporate identity to AskMe, its chief executive officer (CEO) Jaspreet Bindra has put in his papers. Though the company confirmed Bindra's resignation, details on his next move are not available as of now.
While there is no clarity on who will succeed Bindra, in terms of hierarchy, he is followed by Kiran Murthi who is the CEO of Getit Bazaar and Sidharth Gupta, director of Getit Infoservices. The development was first reported by Medianama.
Bindra has over 18 years of experience in sales & marketing, business leadership, as well as business turn-around, and had joined Getit in February 2013. A chemical engineer, he also holds an MBA degree in international business from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.
Prior to Getit, he was with Microsoft India heading their internet business for the first three years, and the retail, entertainment & devices business for the next three. He had earlier also worked at companies like Baazee.com (acquired by eBay), Tata Administrative Services (TAS), and spent eleven years with the Tata Group, across the FMCG and telecom businesses of the group.
Getit Infomedia (previously also known as Getit Infoservices) offers services across print, online and voice media and is present in more than 35 cities in the country. The firm is supported by Malaysia's Astro (as a strategic investor) besides VC investor Helion Venture Partners.
Last year, the company had acquired Infomedia Yellow Pages and AskMe from Network18 group and added a new monetisation channel with the launch of its online marketplace Getit Bazaar.
