Excl: App development startup AppDra raises $1.5M through crowd funding

VCCircle_AppDra_logoBangalore and US-based app development startup Appdra Software Solutions Pvt Ltd, which operates under the name AppDra, has raised $1.5 million in Series A round of funding through US-based crowd-funding platform Becovillage, a top executive of the company told Techcircle.in.

The investors who participated in this round include John Harris, founder of International Barter-Business, a consulting and intermediary firm that evaluates, analyses, models and restructures financial projects in order to raise capital for its clients.

The startup will use the capital to acquire international clients mainly in the US and Europe. Additionally, it is launching a new app called School-bag, which replaces stacks of textbooks, notebooks, question banks and revision notes by integrating them into a smart device, besides a property search portal called Gharbook.com.

The company was founded in 2012 by computer science engineers Raghavendra Prasad and Narendra Yallabandi. The startup develops and designs creative internet and web applications, in addition to providing SEO services to enterprises. The startup claims to have served 25 clients that include Arryit Solutions and Cloud Shift IT services, among others.

Headquartered in Bangalore, AppDra currently employs around 25 people and is planning to increase the team size to 40. It claims that it has generated Rs 45 lakh revenues till date, and is aiming to triple the figure with a new round of funding.

Some of the Indian origin companies that have raised funds through Becovillage include PSM Technologies, Tecsol Infosystems, among others.
