technopark logoKerala-based Technopark technology business incubator (TBI) has set up open innovation space, called OpeniSpace, on its campus for innovators and young student entrepreneurs. OpeniSpace will provide startups with plug-and-play facilities with four to 12 seats, along with Wi-Fi internet connectivity.

The OpeniSpace huts will also offer the startups 50 free email IDs, software licences, virtual work spaces, servers, cloud infrastructure and other hardware at minimum cost. Additionally, the startups will get a data farm, which aims to provide cost-efficient data storage facility.

"The incubator had mooted the project due to insufficient space for startups. Out of the 190-odd startups, around 40 firms shared virtual space here," said K C Chandrasekharan Nair, managing director, Technopark. "We now have over a thousand applications pending for allotment of space. We hope to provide them space at OpeniSpace."
