Lenovo launches IdeaPad A10 for Rs 19,990; Nokia launches Lumia 1320 phablet for Rs 23,999

While the Consumers Electronic Show (CES) 2014 is at an end, a number of companies have been launching previously unveiled products in the Indian market. Earlier this week, Nokia had launched the Lumia 1320 phablet, and now Lenovo has launched IdeaPad A10, the company's first dual-mode laptop running on the Android operating system. Both the devices were first unveiled in Oct last year. Here is a look at the specifications of the devices.

IdeaPad A10 for Rs 19,990

The dual-mode laptop sports a 10.1-inch HD multi-touch touchscreen display (1366 x 768), which can be flipped around 300 degrees in 'stand mode' to offer a tablet-like experience (where the keyboard becomes the stand). While in the laptop mode, the device offers a full-size ergonomic, AccuType keyboard. It runs on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, with a Lenovo-customised user interface that provides an app launcher, task bar and status bar for quick access to the app library and desktop (in the laptop mode). In addition, file manager software makes it easy to locate and manage a library of documents, videos and music.

It is powered by a 1.6GHz RK3188 quad-core Cortex-A9 processor, has 1GB of RAM, and comes with 16GB of internal memory that can be further expanded with a microSD card. The device has stereo speakers and a 0.3 MP webcam for video calling. IdeaPad A10 also comes with a microUSB port, two USB 2.0 ports and a micro HDMI slot. The device weighs less than 1kg and is 17.3mm at its thickest point. Lenovo has provided a 1,600 mAh battery in the device, which it claims will provide up to nine hours of continuous video playback.

Lumia 1320 for Rs 23,999

Lumia-1320The first phablet from the company (or the second one depending on which you consider first- 1320 or 1520), Lumia 1320 sports a 6 inch HD LCD IPS touchscreen display (1280×720 pixel resolution) with 245 ppi pixel density. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 dual core processor, and has 1 GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 8GB that can be further expanded an additional 64GB with a microSD card. In addition, the company is also providing 7GB of SkyDrive cloud storage.

The device has a 5 mega pixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash that can record full high-definition videos (1080 pixels) at 30 frames per second and a front-facing VGA camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, the device comes with Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G (depending on the region), and it also has a microUSB port. The device measures 164.2 mm x 85.9 mm x 9.8 mm and weighs 220 gm.

It has a 3,400 mAh non-removable battery that the company claims will provide over 21 hours of talk time and 672 hours of stand by time. The device comes with Nokia HERE maps (for navigation), A-GPS and FM radio. It will be available in orange, yellow, black, and white colours. In the under Rs 25,000 price range and the 5 inch & above screen size, the device will compete with the likes Samsung Galaxy Mega (5.8 inch display for Rs 23,400), Panasonic P51 (5 inch display for Rs 22,390), Lenovo K900 (5.5 inch display for Rs 23,999), XOLO Q3000 (5.7 inch display for Rs 20,990), Intex Aqua Octa (6 inch display for Rs 19,999), and Gionee Elife E6 (5 inch display for Rs 21,300), among others.

In addition, the company has also launched a mid-price range smartphone for Rs 10,399. Christened Lumia 525, the device is available in gloss orange, white, yellow and matte black colours.
