Micro-blogging site Twitter has appointed Parminder Singh as managing director for southeast Asia, MENA and India. Singh was previously working at Google as the managing director - display solution sales, APAC region.
Reportedly, Singh announced his new assignment via his Twitter handle @parrysingh (). He quit his five-year stint at Google to join the micro-blogging site. Prior to Google, he was GM-marketing at IBM and before that he was working as country sales head/head of marketing at Apple.
Singh becomes the third Indian to join the top management at Twitter in the last one year or so. In November last year, it hired Rishi Jaitly as its director for the India market and in August this year, it roped in Arvinder Gujral as head of mobile business development for India and Southeast Asia. Prior to joining Twitter, he was the head of data, value-added services (VAS) and new products at Aircel.
